Jessie Rocha (Pitching)
Jessie played one season for the Western CT State University but hang up her spikes to devote more time to her studies. But she remained in the sport teaching at FPN and in High School. Jessie is the Asst. Coach and Pitching Coach for the East Catholic High School softball team and has been a pitching consultant/instructor to Bay Path University softball team. She has been teaching at FPN for the last 6 seasons and is a 3 time all-conference pitcher at Northwest Catholic High School. She also pitched for the CT Mirage and CT Mirage Gold Travel teams for 8 years. Jessie is a Surgical Technologist at UCONN Hospital in Farmington.
Julie Marks (Pitching)
Julie Marks was a 4-year player at Division 1 Central Connecticut State University Division. Julie started coaching as an assistant in 2011 through today with the CT Mirage Gold Travel softball team. She has been giving pitching lessons since 2014. Julie is from Granby, CT and began her travel ball career playing for CT Mirage Softball when she was 13. She a 4-year starting pitcher for Granby Memorial High School. She looks forward to helping her students obtain their goals of pitching at the next level whether it be on a travel team or at the collegiate level.
Samantha Esque (Pitching)
Samantha Esque is the pitching coach for the Division I University of Hartford. She coaches previously at Wagner College. Prior to her coaching career, Esque was a standout pitcher for Post University. As a two-year captain for the Eagles, Esque was named CACC Pitcher of the Year in 2015 and 2016, DII CAA East Region Pitcher of the Year in 2016 and earned a spot on the All-ECAC Team in 2016. As a senior, the Springfield, Pa., native was 19-7 with a pair of saves in 31 appearances, including 23 starts in 2016. Esque posted a 1.33 ERA over 178.2 innings of work, while also striking out 149 batters compared to just 15 walks. Her 10 shutouts ranked fourth in NCAA Division II, and she owns Post’s school record in the category with 20 career shutouts. After graduating from Post, Esque played a season professionally in Orebro, Sweden. While there, she traveled the country running youth pitching clinics and being an ambassador for the sport. Due too NCAA recruiting rules Samantha can only work with players up to 8th grade. She is barred from coaching any high school players.
Taylor Skinner (Fielding, Hitting)
Taylor graduated cum laude from Our Lady of the Elms College in 2016 and graduated with honors from the University of New Haven in 2017; achieving her bachelors and masters in sports management. While at Elms College, Taylor played four season of softball ending her career with an average batting average of .325 and fielding percentage of .914. Since hanging up her cleats she has done several clinics and is also the assistant coach at East Catholic High School.
Alicia Bertolino (Fielding, Hitting)
Alicia is a Division 1 softball player at Central CT State University. Before college Alicia played for the New Jersey Pride Easton team and went to North Rockland High School in Stony Point, NY. In high school she was a 3 times All-League recipient, and also received All- Section Honorable Mention 3 times and All-State accolades. During the summer she was an assistant coach to a 12u and 14u futures team where she specifically worked on hitting and infield. She is a junior Marketing major with an MIS minor.
Jennifer Duell (Catching, Fielding, Hitting)
Jennifer graduated with honors from Siena College in 2012 where she earned a degree in Biology. For the Saints, Jen was a catcher/ utility player batting .355 in her senior season. A three time member of the MAAC All-Academic team, Jen continued her education at the University of New Haven for her master’s degree in Secondary Education. She is now a science teacher teacher at Maloney High School and the Softball Head Coach at Platt High School, both in Meriden.
Kierstan Skinner (Catching, Fielding, Hitting)
Kierstan played at Our Lady of the Elms College for four seasons as she completed her bachelors in sports management. She was the starting catcher three out of her four years having an average fielding percentage of .980. She was not just a leader on defense; she led the team with an average batting average of .350. Kierstan continues her love of the game as an assistant coach for the CT Mirage 18U.
Tom Nicholson (Baseball Pitching)
Tom is a Former 4- year Division I pitcher at Siena College. Coach Tom has taught and played at all levels of the game. Coach Tom encourages the mental aspects of pitching along side the physical demands associated with this exciting position. Your pitcher will develop an understanding of the many aspects required in an encouraging environment so he grows as a player and fan of this grand game.
